Ordinance Limits
All
industrial users must meet Ordinance limits. If you believe your industry
requires pretreatment to meet Ordinance limits or if you do not know whether
your industry can meet the Ordinance Limits, contact the Pretreatment
Coordinator.
Are you required to have a Wastewater Discharge Permit?
All
industries that are categorical as defined in the National Code of Federal
Regulations are required to have a Wastewater Discharge Permit. If your
industrial facility is categorical but does not discharge process wastewater,
you must apply for a zero discharge permit. If you are not sure whether
your industrial facility falls under one of these codes, please contact the
Pretreatment Coordinator for assistance.
All industrial users that discharge
an average of 25,000 gallons per day of process wastewater or more, regardless
of categorical status, must apply for a Wastewater Discharge Permit.
Any
industrial user that has a reasonable potential for adversely affecting the
District's operation must notify the Pretreatment Coordinator at the above
e-mail address to request a determination whether a Wastewater Discharge permit
will be required. This must be done 90 days before the start of operation,
or immediately if already in operation as of January 1, 2008.
All industrial
users are required to notify the District, USEPA and IEPA of any hazardous waste
in their discharges which are subject to the requirement, as specified under 40
CFR 403.12(p).
NOTE:
This information applies to Wastewater Discharge Permits only.
All new or
modified building connections or discharges are required to
obtain a District
connection construction permit, regardless of
nature of discharge.
