2016 CIPP Sewer Rehabilitation
Rehabilitation of approximately 14,250 lineal feet of Thorn Creek Basin Sanitary District trunk sewers located in Chicago Heights, South Chicago Heights, Steger, and Crete, IL, is financed by the Clean Water State Revolving Fund (SRF). The SRF program is administered by the Illinois Environmental Protection Agency and receives a portion of its money to fund these types of projects from the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency. The $3,683,797.86 loan has an interest rate of 1.75% and will be repaid over 20 years. This project improves the District’s sanitary sewer infrastructure with the installation of cured-in-place pipe in various sized District sanitary sewers ranging from 18” to 48” in diameter.
